entertainment weekly has a boner for twilight
19th February 2009
look, here’s the deal. some of us out there don’t like twilight. it’s just the way it is. and it gets a little annoying when, everywhere we turn, those vampires are hanging around. it’s probably how most dudes feel about american idol. or how my roommate feels about bad vh1 reality shows.
but here’s the thing: it’s one thing to not want to embrace the teen vampire romance novel/movie. it’s another thing when your favorite magazine in the world pushes the teen vampire romance novel/movie on you all the time. like, four covers in three months. it’s getting out of control, entertainment weekly. were you bit by that vampire? are you turning into that vampire?
luckily i’m not the only one who’s noticing. gawker has been giving them plenty of shit about it. loyal ew readers have been sounding off in the comments section. and the entertainment weekly editors even know subscribers are feeling overwhelmed by the twilight love, even putting that patterson guy on the cover for newsstands and meryl streep on the cover for subscribers one week. twilight is selling right now. we get it.
but sometimes, there’s nothing to say. hence the problem with this past week’s issue (pictured above). the tv addict noticed too, pointing out how there’s plenty of other happenings in hollywood, and offering up a mock cover for us all. take a look:
funny, right?
what do you think of ew’s twilight obsession? too much for you? or do you want more?

Does it really say “Exclusive Photos and Secrets from the new book about the smash movie” ??
Personally, I can’t wait for the smash movie based on the book about the smash movie based on the book.
